What a pleasure and what an inspiration it was to hear Lord Archer’s address to our students with his visit. His interaction with our students and parents and his willingness to answer questions were the highlight for many of us.His address focused on never giving up but the importance to continue to persevere and struggle on through the tough times. He explained that his very first book, ‘Not a penny more, not a penny less’ was rejected by publishers 15 times before being accepted.He summed up his presentation with the well-known quote from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.“The heights by great men (and women) reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.
