In continuation of the Newsletter published on 8th March 2019 that showcased the Book Launch event of our budding author and illustrator, the Learning Support Department and the PYP Team once again, take immense pride in congratulating Shanaya Upadhyaya for raising significant funds to help underprivileged students with special needs.
Shanaya’s first book Tales with a Twist is a delight to read not only for students but also for educators and caregivers who believe in the International Baccalaureate’s philosophy that the Process is more important than the Product. Donating the proceeds collected from the sale of this book has made it an even stronger example of a learning journey that highlights what our children become, rather than what they receive.
It’s an honor to see our Grade 5 student bringing the Literacy Week 2019’s theme of “Words can transform worlds” to life! Shanaya has successfully managed to sponsor Occupational Therapy and Educational Needs of 3 children for the upcoming academic year. All the 3 children received the aid of Rs.25,000 each - amounting to a total donation of Rs.75,000. Shanaya extends her gratitude to everyone who supported this cause and encouraged her by purchasing the books.
We applaud Shanaya’s commitment and attachment towards this cause at such a young age and wish her the best as she accomplishes the first of her many more thoughtful endeavours. We also thank the staff, past & present, who have continuously supported her.
