Ryan Shanbhag (Grade 12) proudly captained the Indian national team at the International Young Physicists’ Tournament (IYPT) held in Lund, Sweden. Often referred to as the "Physics World Cup", the IYPT is a globally prestigious, research-based competition that simulates real-world scientific inquiry through the investigation and presentation of 17 open-ended physics problems. We are delighted to share that under Ryan’s leadership, Team India achieved its highest-ever rank and was awarded an Honourable Mention—India’s first in the tournament’s history. The IYPT not only provided a platform for scientific exchange and discovery but also gave Ryan the opportunity to engage with global peers, interact with Nobel Laureates and CERN researchers, and deepen his expertise in experimental physics. Due to this year’s exceptional performance, Ryan has been invited to return as Captain or Mentor for Team India at IYPT 2026
