The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) offered by Cambridge International Examinations, is a two year course offered to our students in grade 9 and 10. Students will be studying the curriculum of the IGCSE within the MYP methodology of the International Baccalaureate, and will have the opportunity to sit for the IGCSE exams at the end of year 10. It is not compulsory for any students to sit the exams, because the school will have end of year exams to decide on promotion into the Diploma Programme in year 11.
In most subjects there is a choice between core and extended curricula, making IGCSE suitable for a wide range of abilities. As per the Association of Indian Universities, a minimum of five passes with grades A, B or C is equivalent to 10(Ten) years Secondary School Certificate of an Indian Board.
The courses are different
in each subject but throughout there will be a mix of assessment methods,
including coursework, practical exercises, oral and listening tests, projects
and written examinations. Examinations are held in May/June of each year and
students will be given time and support to prepare so that their results can
be their best.
