Soccer Grade 6 to 12 (Boys & Girls)


Soccer is the most popular sport worldwide and it is not any different at École Mondiale World School.  The Soccer activity will involve some coaching in the skills of the game as well as the opportunity to play in small group situations.  Soccer at EMWS not only emphasizes on passing, heading, dribbling, shooting and tackling but also nurtures team spirit, a competitive outlook & sets an atmosphere for fun and fair play. 

Basketball Grade 6 to 12 (Boys & Girls)

                           

The second fastest game around the world is Basketball.  A professional coach will look after the training programme. This activity will run for a semester to allow students time to develop their skills and to form a team for the interschool competition.

Tennis 6 to 12 (Boys and Girls)

 
Originating in Europe in the late 19th century as "lawn tennis", with its roots going back to the ancient game of real tennis, tennis spread first throughout the English-speaking world, particularly among the upper classes. Tennis is now once again an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society, by all ages, and in many countries around the world.

           
Gymnastics Grades 6 to 8 (Boys and Girls)      

                            

Gymnastics is called the mother of all sports.  One of the most popular and oldest sports of the Olympics, Gymnastics has been a part of "the games" since ancient times. The sport traces its origins to Greece where athletes received physical training in a special arena, in addition to many other disciplines including the arts, philosophy and literature.

Table Tennis Grade 6 to 12 (Boys & Girls)

Table Tennis emphasizes all round development.  We do this through a set of professional coaches who not only train the students the skills but also work on their physical fitness and their concentration. 

Athletics Grade 6 to 12 (Boys & Girls)

                     

Athletics consist of Track and Field events.  Track events consist of Sprint, Middle Distance, Long Distance while Field events consist of Jumps and Throws.Professional coaches will handle the different age groups and the different events.

Handball – Girls Grade 6 to 8 (Girls)

                       

Last year our school participated in the MSSA inter school tournament.  We had a larger no.of students participating in this activity.  The students have developed the skills of the game & now they are moving towards advance training.  It is intended to prepare under 12, under 14 and under 16 teams to play in the Mumbai School Sports Association interschool Competition.  – Lets guide a great Girls Handball team.

Chess Club Grade 6 to 12 (Boys & Girls)

The school had organized Inter house chess competition last year.  Students had participated in large numbers.  Some of the students performed extremely well.  This year we would like to train them and send them for various inter school competitions.  Mr. Sanjay Thakurel, our chess expert, requires students who are serious.This activity will run for a semester to allow students time to develop their skills.


Cricket Grade 6 to 10 (Boys and Girls)

Cricket training will take place on two days every week. Training will include batting and bowling net sessions, fielding sessions and some cricket-related fitness work. Teamwork, the commitment to group goals and dedication to personal skill development will be valued most highly and will play a major role in the selection of teams.

Badminton 6 to 12 (Boys and Girls)
 
Badminton was known in ancient times; an early form of sport played in ancient Greece and Egypt. Badminton came from a game called battledore and shuttlecock, in which two or more players keep a feathered shuttlecock in the air with small rackets. The game was called "Poona" in India during the 18th Century.

Gymnasium Grade 10 to 12 (Boys & Girls)

               
Professional instructors will conduct this activity. Instructors have put together plates, weights, cardio & flexibility mixed with fun and motivation to bring you a unique fitness programme. Instructors believe that the combination of training exercise and diet and fun add up to a healthy mind and body. Instructors will be framing the schedule for workout for individuals according to their needs and ability.


Swimming 6 to 12 (Boys and Girls)

 
Swimming is the complete exercise. At Ecole, under the guidance of professional coaches student will be taught the nuances of this sport.  Join us in the pool and show the prowess all you children of the water.

Water Polo 9 to 12 (Boys and Girls)
   

Water polo is a team water sport combining some elements of swimming and handball. A team consists of six field players and one goalkeeper. The objective of the game resembles that of football (soccer): to score as many goals as possible, each goal being worth one point.


Singing (Choir) 6 to 12 (Boys and Girls)

 

Come and join in singing together songs ranging from classical, folk, to Pop and Rock. Enhance your singing and music skills and learn to sing in groups and as a part of a choir.

Singing (Hindustani) 9 to 12 (Boys and Girls)

India epitomizes music in all its variety. From the Jodhpur gharana to the hwalior gharana, from regional melodies to popular hindi music, there is music in every aspect of our lives. In this club we recreate music in all its variety.

School Band Grade 6 to 12 (Boys & Girls)

                       

If you enjoy playing music or would like to learn an instrument the School band is your best choice.  We will meet twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays.  We will be performing at major events in school and also look at options for performing with other bands. Priority will be given to existing band students but there is always space for beginners.


Guitar 9 to 12 (Boys and Girls)
The modern word, guitar, was adopted into English from Spanish guitarra, derived from the Latin word cithara, which in turn was derived from the earlier Greek word kithara. Prospective sources for various names of musical instruments that guitar could be derived from appear to be a combination of two Indo-European roots: guit-, similar to Sanskrit sangeet meaning "music", and -tar a widely attested root meaning "chord" or "string".


Yoga Grade 9 to 12 (Boys & Girls)
  
Yoga has a documented history of benefits and has stood the test of time for more than 5000 years. Yoga is a union of mind, body and spirit. We bring you the best yogic techniques derived from Ashtanga Yoga or the eight-fold path of Yoga.

Dance Grade 6 to 12 (Boys & Girls)
 
“Expressive movements of the body accompanied by facial expressions, govern by the rules of rhythm = Dance”. Dance is an expression of pleasure. In this activity the students will be exposed to modern dances such as country and western. Students may have the opportunity to perform at various school events.


Model United Nations (MUN) Grade 9 to 12
(Boys & Girls)


                       
MUN student delegates will learn various skills needed in international negotiations.  These will include research, debating, analysis; critical thinking and above all listening and appreciating others view points.
Every month, a global issue is selected and all student delegates are assigned a country.  They will have to present that country’s view point and offer possible solutions to the issue.

Elocution 6 to 12 (Boys and Girls)


 All the students will learn the art of breathing, pronunciation, solo and group elocution which would also include choral recitation. Your vocal skills will be sharpened and will lead to effective public speaking along with nurturing self-confidence.

Ecolessence Grade 9 to 12 (Boys and Girls)

 

 This is a student generated school magazine from which students will be able to express their views and report on major school events. This activity is a CAS activity and hopes to publish the magazine yearly.
 

Water Colours 6-8(Boys and Girls)



Students will learn the use of single, mixed and combinations of various colours. They will make greeting cards, posters and learn to dabble with paints.

 
Creative Thinking and Modelling 6 to 8(Boys and Girls)

 
This club will serve to hone on the imaginative prowess of all who wish to participate. It will also keenly appreciate originality of thought and create appropriate images of intricate quality. All creation has a design and in this club we design what we wish to create. Mathematically precise creations are our goal.

The Scrabble Club: 6 to 8 (Boys and Girls)

 
In the scrabble club we play with words. We earn the art of making words with the letters we have, enrich our vocabulary and our reading and writing skills along with it. Anagrams, word puzzles, word hunt and treasure trove will be the various modes of making this activity an enjoyable one.

The Food Club 9 to 12 (Boys and Girls)


The Ecole Mondiale Cookery Class-For all those who love food…..and love to feed people .The keen amateur and the complete beginner —You will love this culinary course and learn how to make some tasty dishes.

The Environment Club 6 to 8 (Boys and Girls)

 
The club will discuss/find ways to make a difference to the environment. They will also create awareness about environmental issues through posters and newsletters. They will go on field trips to discover the wonders of nature. If possible, they will also watch documentaries/clips on different facets of the environment.


Nature Documentary Grade 11 and 12
(Boys & Girls)

 

It is important in today’s world to understand the importance of preserving all that is in nature around us. When politicians and people who matter are busy only with seminars and discussions let the children learn what the reality is. They can establish a kinship with nature at an early age.

Drums 9 to 12 (Boys and Girls)


An activity to instruct and teach students the basics of playing the drums. Reading notes, holding the drum sticks properly and creating good music is the aim of this student-led enterprise.

Flower Making 6 to 8 (Boys and Girls)



The flower making club will create different varieties of flowers using different techniques. These techniques would be simple and practical for all children to do independently. There will be use of various materials even recycled products for the children to be creative in their thinking. A fun-filled activity


Investment Club 9 to 12 (Boys and Girls)



The club that teaches you to be worldly-wise, knowledgeable and prudent. In the world of today where economics and finance is the by-word for success, equip yourselves and be prepared for the challenges ahead.

World Issues 9 to 12 (Boys and Girls)
 

The world around us is ever evolving and ever challenging. Be one with it and heal the world. Make it your own as you solve and discuss the issues around.



Photography Club 9 to 12 (Boys and Girls)

 

Get the camera and etch out those moments in time that you have experienced. Years later it will take you down memory lane- moments lost in time but forever in those dusty albums.


Amnesty International 9 to 12 (Boys and Girls)



Amnesty International
(commonly known as Amnesty or AI) is an international non-governmental organization which defines its mission as "to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to promote all human rights." This club will ensure that the students understand the concept of rights and duties within the school and in the society.


Ceramics Grade 6 to 8 (Boys & Girls)

Ceramics is an activity for students to express their creativity in a 3- dimensional form. Come and learn ceramic techniques such as hand building and slab work.  They will also learn the ceramic colouring techniques and glazing.


 Computers Animation 6 to 8 (Boys and Girls)
 

Computer Animation after school activity offers students a chance to familiarize themselves with computer software that is currently used in the art and design world. Students will learn how to apply computers to static design as well as animated design, how to import images into computers and how to manipulate them.


Assembling A Computer 6 to 8(Boys and Girls)


The students who are so knowledgeable about computers will be taken a step forward in their quest and learn how to assemble a computer under expert guidance. They will learn the necessary skills to work independently if they wish to pursue this as a profession later in life.

Red Ribbon Club 11and 12(Boys and Girls)

Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is formed with the intention of promoting awareness about HIV /AIDS, modes of transmission and prevention among adolescent and young adults. The college students of institutions will be equipped with life skills to prevent HIV /AIDS through RRCs. and to promote education among those who do not have any access to vital information.

Concern For Animals Club Grade 6 to 10
(Boys & Girls)

 

If you have always been interested in the welfare of animals but did not know how to become involved this is your chance, we will be working towards issues such as cruelty to animals and will be helping PETA an animal welfare organization.
